Safaricom has announced a major upgrade to its Home Fibre service, increasing internet speeds by up to 2.5 times across all packages at no additional cost to customers.
Under the upgrade, all existing subscribers will automatically benefit from faster speeds while continuing to pay the same prices.
Entry-level packages will now offer speeds of up to 15 Mbps, while mid-tier plans will provide 35 Mbps and 80 Mbps. Premium packages will reach speeds of up to 400 Mbps, targeting households with high data usage.
Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa said the move is aimed at meeting growing demand for reliable, high-speed internet as more homes become digitally connected. He noted that the upgrade will support smoother streaming, video calls, and multi-device usage.
The company currently covers over 800,000 homes, maintaining its position as a leading provider in Kenya’s fixed internet market.
