Bobi Wine Raises Alarm Over Kizza Besigye’s Deteriorating Health After Collapse in Detention

Uganda’s opposition leader, Bobi Wine, has expressed deep concern over the critical health condition of veteran politician Dr. Kizza Besigye, who collapsed while still in detention.

“We stopped by Luzira Upper Prison to check on Dr. Besigye, who has been on a hunger strike in protest against his illegal detention. Sadly, we were unable to see him—he is too frail and weak. Through Hajj Obed Lutale Kamulegeya, he sent us a distressing message about his condition, revealing that he collapsed this morning.”

The revelation has sparked growing fears over Besigye’s well-being, as calls mount for his immediate release and urgent medical attention.
